This scene made me think of a flattened Japanese painting. The warm tone in this picture helped to create a nostalgic feeling. Looking out over the valley you can really see the layers of distance.

Hiking on the Mt Wilson trail afforded views of the Angeles National Forest receding into the distance. The trees crisscross lines caught my eye as did the atmospheric hazing caused by the sun setting in the background. I suppose the heavy particulate count in the air above Los Angeles may have had something to do with the lighting. Ahh smog! I suppose part of a photographers job is finding some sense of beauty in everything.
