Om Nama Video

Recently, I worked on a project with a friend of mine, Victor Byrd of Long Beach Mediation. He is a musician and practices Vipassana meditation. He composed a piece for piano and asked me to provide some imagery for it. After looking through my pictures for a while I settled on some images from my Motion series. To me it captured the notion of being in the moment, by watching the moment, as it passes by. I'm not an expert on the subject by any stretch of the imagination, so I'd recommend reading a bit more on the subject if you are interested, but I have practiced it and these images felt right for the project.

The lyrics to the chant translate roughly as:

OM: Salutation to the Teacher (Guru) within, He is Siva (auspiciousness); The embodiment of Existence/Knowledge/Bliss.

He is free from world consciousness, Peaceful without support, And self-effulgent.

According to Victor "satchidananda is the word Hindu's use to describe our essence - what we are really. Sat = Being, Chit = Intelligence, Ananda = Bliss or Joy."
